Sr. Theresa Olaniyan is a Sister of St Louis, Nigeria province. She holds a Diploma in Computer Science from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, a bachelor’s degree from Adeyemi College of Education in Biology (B.Ed.) affiliated to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and a master’s degree in child Protection and Safeguarding from Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome.
Theresa is trained and licensed to organize seminars and formulate policy both in formal and informal settings. As the safeguarding officer for Sisters of St. Louis, Nigeria province, she partners with governmental and non-governmental organizations to reach out to the society by engaging with Nigerian schools, churches, hospitals, clinics, villages and other places that work with children to advocate against the abuse of children and vulnerable
adults and gender-based violence to enhance the ways and methods in which caregivers exercise their parenting, teaching and caring roles. Sr. Theresa does this by organizing and giving seminars and workshops on safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults to organisations, societies, and groups in the church.
