Leaving your Past Behind: Homily for the 5th Sunday of Lent

For many of us, our yesterdays weigh so heavily on our todays. Sometimes this makes it hard for us to step into a better future with God. There are so many things about the past that we often find hard to leave behind-sad memories, hurts, mistakes, losses, guilt, and regrets among others. Fr Stan invites us to leave our past behind and step into a new day. There is the promise of a new beginning and a new future with God who assures us today in the Gospel that we are not condemned to the past but redeemed into the future. In the words of Isaiah in the first reading, this message of hope invites you to be open to God who can change your past and do a new thing with you today.
